MARY ANNE is a fully rigged three masted barquentine constructed of steel with wood decks. Sails are handed and hoisted in the traditional manner without the aid of powered winches. She has a full set of canvas sails which are in use daily depending on the itinerary and prevailing winds. Her tapered masts, booms and yards are made of aluminum and steel. She is powered by a 650 hp Deutz diesel engine and has a twin disc transmission. She is fitted with two main generators by Cummins of 85 KW each operating at 55 HZ. A smaller Mase generator of 35 KW is fitted to provide a separate source for 110 60HZ electricity for passenger needs. MARY ANNE is presently configured to carry 20 passengers in yachting style staterooms with ensuite head vanity basins and showers. She sails with 10 crew including Captain and two engineers. However, the interior can be reconfigured for more or less passengers or crew as much of the accommodation is not presently in use. The reconfiguring options are endless and could include a luxurious full beam master stateroom which could be situated in the stern. She is licensed to operate with 16 passengers and a guide in the Galapagos due to local regulations. | ||
